Dr Liz O’Riordan on finding purpose after a life-changing cancer diagnosis
Dr Liz O’Riordan is a breast surgeon who has now had breast cancer herself three times. At the age of 40 her life was thrown upside down by her diagnosis, and after getting the all clear, three years later she found out the cancer had returned. This time the side effects of treatment forced her to retire from surgery, but from this moment of change Liz started something new. She decided to channel all her knowledge and experience into continuing to help people going through a diagnosis. She is now one of the UK’s leading breast cancer experts - she’s literally written the Complete Guide, she writes for the Mail and she’s a powerhouse online, posting regular videos and providing reliable advice and guidance for women going through breast cancer treatment. Plus her podcast - So Now I’ve Got Breast Cancer - is another platform where she has grown a community of followers who look to her as a source they can trust in a sea of misinformation. She regularly receives letters and posts from her followers telling her how she has changed their life - and is the perfect guest to show how nothing should stop us from reinvention.
